The Linda was one of two sister ships
built in Falmouth, England, in 1879 for the
fruit trade to Spain. After some years in the
fruit trade she was sold to an Appledore owner
and carried salt fish from Newfoundland to
London. She was then sold in the early 1900s to
Portmadoc in Wales and was engaged in general
coastal trade, mainly delivering coal to coves
and open beaches around the Cornish coast. She
was lost in the Irish Sea in 1912.
